On Saturday, May 16, the Bible Core-Course graduated! We were blown away by the amount of people that came to support the students. Right now at the base we have around 18 people, and for graduation, we had over 50 guests come to show their support for the BCC students.
Throughout this 12 week school, the BCC has read through the entire Bible, studied every genre in the Old and New Testament, preached, ran Bible studies, did character studies, learned how to dig deeper and find out what scripture was actually saying, they learned about authors, and time periods, how to color code, and use the inductive method to go through the Bible. The last three months have been very challenging for our 8 students, but we are so proud of the way that they have grown and found a deeper love of learning who the God of the Bible is.
Graduation was filled with laughter, sharing testimonies, singing, performing a school dance, and doing a drama on the book of Esther. Around 1/2 of our guests did not know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, so even during graduation the students were able to proclaim the Gospel to unbelieving hearts through preforming the story of Esther.
At the end of the BCC, we asked each of the students to write a sentence/statement sharing what the BCC was to them. Here is what they said:
“The BCC was fulfilling” – Pheyllene, age 21, Vanuatu
“The BCC has been a challenging and rewarding way of learning more about the Bible and how to apply that study personally in my life” – Mary, age 31, USA
“BCC was amazing and Fulfilling” – Lydia, age 20, Solomon Islands
“The BCC brought me hope that there is always something new for tomorrow” – Dephney, age 22, Vanuatu
“BCC was refining” – Susana, age 26, Fiji
“BCC was challenging” – Edward, age 31, Solomon Islands
“BCC was very stretching to the core, but was so rewarding in the end” – Tiki, age 42, Fiji
“BCC changed parts of my character” – Jerick, age 20, Solomon Islands
We are so excited to have some of these lovely students remaining on to staff with us, and others wish to return home or feel the Lord calling them in a different direction. Please pray with us over these students that the things they have learned will not be quickly forgotten, and that the Lord would open doors for them to share and to dig deeper into his word. Also, please pray for the students and teachers that were planning on returning home. With our borders still closed, they are unable to leave. Pray that the Lord would make a way for them to go home, or that he would bring purpose and contentment to them until our borders open again.
