The Bible Core Course (BCC) that I am taking right now, not only expands your knowledge but it also transforms your life. And that is what I want to share about today.
In the beginning of the school we started with the New Testament. We read most of the books together out loud as a class, and then we studied a few of them in depth. We look at the authors life, the history and time period that the book was written in, how the books affected the original reader, how it relates to us today, and how we can apply it to our lives. We have also explored how we can share what we’ve learnt with others.
One of the many things that stood out to me through the books of the NT was how God was so loving and gracious, giving Jesus to us to die on the cross for my sins. Not only that, Jesus fulfilled all of the requirements of the Old Testament.
For Example, the sacrifices that people in the Old Testament offered for their sins required certain animals and other things to be given to God as a payment to have their sins forgiven. Because of Jesus, we no longer have to do this.
So when I read the New Testament books and read about what Jesus did on the cross, that was life changing for me. I have gotten to understand more of what sacrificial love looks like. Dying on the cross, feeling the punishment that was meant for me, paying for my sins, and cleansing me from all unrighteousness. I am grateful for more understanding of what Jesus did for me and thankful to be here in this season to study the Bible and to be equipped to go out and let the world know who Jesus is and what He has done for them.
