Let us start off with a huge thank you to everyone who made this possible! Everyone from supporters, to construction teams, and even the Introduction to Primary Healthcare team that sacrificed their time to help us scrub tiles, layout the pathway, and assemble furniture. Without your help and the enabling of the Lord, we would not have been ready for the dedication on Thursday and the opening on Friday.
The team worked throughout the morning and afternoon to ensure the new centre would be able to host the events. The activities began Thursday evening as guests arrived at our new building and toured the facilities. We gathered for the first official dinner and afterward we broke out into worship, praising God for everything He had done: through the clinic, finishing the building on time, and creating a space for relationship in the local community. We know this is just the beginning and He will carry us so much further.
On Friday, we invited the community to join us for the official opening. We were honoured to have the Director of the Department of Women’s Affairs for Vanuatu, Mrs. Dorosday Kenneth, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Honourable Ralph Reganvanu, Member of Parliament for Efate Rural, Gillion William, and Representative for the Department of Health, Jack Rory, partake in our celebration. We hosted kids programs run by the Youth Group from the International Christian Church. Dorosday gave an inspirational speech, supporting what we are doing in Vanuatu. We closed off with a time of fellowship and cutting cake to celebrate that we had made it. Now, we are working on the final touches to prepare for our first team arriving this Thursday! Be praying with us as we have had a few leaks and a couple other necessary projects to finish before before the team arrives.
